SYNOPSIS:
THE STORY YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW...

When Kyle Calloway died, he took a part of Nell with him. She wasn’t the only one left to pick up the pieces, however; Kyle’s death left a gaping hole in the hearts and lives of his parents and his older brother Colton, and ultimately broke the will of the girl he loved.

THE STORY YOU NEVER IMAGINED...

Becca de Rosa is Nell’s best friend. When Kyle died, Nell was so devastated that no one could reach her, not even her best friend Becca. As she tries to help Nell through her grief, Becca’s own life is thrust into turmoil, and everything she knows is changed.

Jason Dorsey asked Nell out the week after her sixteenth birthday, but that date never happened. Instead, he ended up going out with Nell’s best friend, Becca. He had no way of knowing, then, how that one date would send him on a life-long journey with Becca. He had no way of knowing the tragedies and triumphs he would experience, or that in Becca, he might find the love of a lifetime.

THE HEARTACHE YOU’LL NEVER FORGET...

My Review:
Rating – 4.5 Stars!!
Cover – 4.5 Love the color!
Steam Factor – 4 stars
Ending – HEA

In Falling Into You you learn about Kyle, Nell & Colton. Kyle was Nell's forever until he died way to young. Colton is Kyle's older brother and he helps Nell get her life back and learn to love again. In this book we meet Jason & Becca. Becca was Nell's best friend while Jason was Kyle's. Kyle's death not only affected Nell & Colton but had a huge impact on their friends also. In Falling Into Us we get Jason & Becca's story from high-school to young adulthood. We see how they overcome tragedy & their own demons to find a future they both deserve.

“I can’t promise you forever, because that’s not long enough.”

Becca, Nell's best friend was use to living in Nell's shadow. She is very smart, sweet, a great friend & determined to please her VERY strict parents. She was also a little shy & insecure because of her stuttering problems. But when she goes out with Jason one night after crushing on him for years her world is turned upside down.

Jason is a star athlete in high-school. He also knows what it feels like to live in someone's shadow because he has been friends with Kyle for a long time. He works hard at being the best at everything he does because if he doesn't he has to face the consequences at home. Dealing with his horrible home life & then the tragedy that rocks them all Becca is his only saving grace.

"I’m thoroughly addicted to you, Becca. If I don’t get a regular fix of your body, I might go into withdrawal.”

Falling Into Us pulls no punches. It brings out all the emotions a good book is suppose to sends you on a emotional roller-coaster ride of epic proportions. Jasinda does an amazing job of capturing your attention and dragging you kicking and screaming through an heartbreaking, gut wrenching but oh so wonderful story of life, love & hope for the future.

"The only way past the pain is through it. You can’t escape it. You can’t ignore it. Pain, grief, anger, misery…they don’t go away—they just increase and compound and get worse. You have to live through them, acknowledge them. You have to give your pain its due."

Blog Tour, Review, Playlist & Giveaway: Carry Your Heart by Audrey Bell

Title: Carry Your Heart
Author: Audrey Bell
Genre: New Adult/Contemporary Romance
Purchase Links: Amazon ~ B&N

Description:
Champion skier Pippa Baker lost everything in the avalanche: her boyfriend, his best friend, and her will to win. After a year of grief, she returns to competition.

She finds more than buried memories and steep slopes in Utah. She finds Hunter Dawson, a heartbreaking daredevil with the gold medals to prove it. And she finds that his reputation doesn’t stop her from falling hard, and that her heart might not be as broken as she once believed.

But, Hunter has scars and memories too—scars that make him believe falling in love might hurt too much, scars that make him run.

Pippa knows how much love hurts when it’s gone. Will she stop herself before she’s in too deep? Or will she let herself fall?

Review:
Rating – 3.5 Stars!!
Cover – 4.5 Stars! Love the color contrast.
Steam Factor – 3.5 stars
Ending – Not a cliffhanger but the story isn't over

Pippa is emotionally and physically damaged from her past. While time healed most of her physical damage she couldn't seem to get past the emotional part. Until her old Coach pressured her into training again she was determined to put it all behind her. On the way to begin her training she meets Hunter who pisses her off and yet she can't help but feel drawn to him.

Hunter is a jerky, arrogant womanizer on the outside because he is broken from his own problems in the past. He butts heads with Pippa and she makes his blood boil but he can't seem to stay away. Once his armor cracks you get to see the sexy, sweet, tender side to Hunter.

Audrey wrote a emotional but sweet portrayal of Pippa & Hunters journey in overcoming their past and trying to make something of their future. It was very well written and keeps you engaged until the end. Although the romance was left in a place that doesn't rip our your heart the story is far from over. I am very curious to see what Audrey has in store for us next.

Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway : Bad Things by R.K. Lilley

BAD THINGS
By R.K. Lilley
June 11th, 2013

BLURB:
Danika hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier.

One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.

She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?

For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.

REVIEW BY KELLI:
I have yet to read the Up in the Air series, so I wasn't sure if I should have before starting this one. The description was too good for me to pass up, however, and I just had to give it a go. What a ride!

I LOVED both characters. Danika wasn't a pushover, lame virgin, or annoying and whiny brat. She had a rough life and managed to take care of herself through it all. She's had bad relationships and is trying to focus on school and bettering herself. She's gorgeous, sarcastic, witty, and spunky as hell. If she was a real person, she's the girl you'd wanna be BFFs with. Enter Tristan Vega. OH. MY. GOD! That man is --- delicious? Hot? Sexy? Yum? He is all that and more. Built, tattooed, tall, lead singer... yes! Sign me up. It's easy to see right off the bat why Danika would be attracted to him. He's the ultimate bad boy, everything she's trying to avoid, in an accessible package. Their interactions were absolutely hilarious! I loved to read their banter. The fact that she wouldn't take his crap was refreshing.

Their story will suck you in off the bat. Two beautiful people who are attracted to each and trying to remain friends? Good luck! Though I will say that they held out for longer than I'd have managed. Be prepared for a roller coaster ride though. Things are up and down so much with this one! At times you'll want to slap sense into both of them. As with any good angst story, Bad Things has plenty. But let me tell you, when they finally get down to it - you may need a shower and/or a fan to cool off. WHEW! Those two are toxic and hot.

Getting beyond all the sexual aspects, I thought the two were suited perfectly for each other. Each had something that filled a hole in the other (pun NOT intended). It was one of the cutest relationships I've read about.

The supporting characters were pretty damn awesome, too! I want Frankie as my other BFF. I also loved Jared. If I couldn't have Tristan, he'd definitely have been second choice.

Overall, I really, really enjoyed this book. I will warn you, there is some heartbreak that takes place. I guessed at it early on in the book, but it's still quite crappy. I give Bad Things 4.5 stars.

Now that I've had the pleasure of meeting James Cavendish, I may have to see how his story plays out.

Title: Fighting Destiny
Author: Amelia Hutchins
Release date: June 2, 2013
Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy
Age: Adults 18+
Buy Link: Amazon

Have you ever heard of the old Celtic legends of the Fae - beautiful, magical, and deadly creatures that have a love of messing with humans just for kicks and giggles?

Welcome to my world.

What started out as a strange assignment, lead to one of the most gruesome murder mysteries of our times. My friends and I are set and determined to find out who is killing off Fae and Witches alike.

Couple of problems in the way – I hate the Fae and the Prince of the Dark Fae is bound and determined that I work for him. He’s a rude, overbearing egotistical ass with a compulsive need to possess, dominate and control me. Oh – did I mention that he is absolutely sex-on-a-stick gorgeous and he makes me feel things that I never ever wanted to feel for a Fae...every time he touches me or looks at me with those dangerous golden eyes he seems to pull me further in under his spell, despite my better judgment.

My friends and I can’t trust anyone and nothing is as it seems on the surface – not even me.

My Review:
Rating – 5 FANFREAKINTASTIC Stars!!
Cover – 4.5 Stars Love the eyes!
WOW Factor - 4.5 stars
Steam Factor – 4.5 stars
Ending – Cliffhanger (part of a series)

Amelia teased us on her blog with Hot-As-Hell little snippets and scenes the whole time she was writing this book so I was ecstatic when it finally came out. I gotta tell you, it was SOOO much more than I expected. This book had action, suspense, sexy vampires, bad ass witches, and Fae that make you want to cream your panties!! It was fast paced, action packed and full of pantie combusting sexual chemistry. I loved every second of it.

Syn was a kick ass, take no names, bad-ass witch to rival all bad-asses and I loved her. She is also a bit damaged from her past and doesn't let many people close to her.

"Oh Hell.No. No red room of pain," I snapped angrily. I was big into reading and no way in hell was I entering no red room of pain in this place.

Ryder UMMM Ryder!!! Damn that Fae was a bad-ass UBER ALPHA MALE Prince that made you want to obey every command that came out of his hot ass mouth. He is use to getting what he wants and he fights VERY dirty..lol Oh and did I mention he feeds on sex YUMMM!!

"I don't make excuses for what I am, or what I do. I play hard. I love hard and I fuck even harder Syn, I am what I am."

"Syn, I'm the kinda dirty that doesn't wash off, remember you asked for it,"

This book grips you hard doesn't let you up until it drops you on your head HARD at the end..lol I think some of my favorite parts of the book are when we get little glimpses into Ryder's mind through is small POV parts. I honestly loved every second of the book and couldn't put it down. It was so refreshing and a change of pace from what I have been reading lately. I think the PNR/UF genre has found a new best selling author. I know it is going straight to the top of my 2013 Favs list. I can't wait for the next one or anything else Amelia decides to put out!!

HIM by Carey Heywood Review

Title: HIM
Author: Carey Heywood
Release date: June 21, 2013
Genre: New Adult / Contemporary Romance
MY REVIEW:

I've been SO excited to read Him and I'm thankful to Carey for the ARC in exchange for a review.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for a story that involves two best friends falling in love. And for some reason, I love it even more when they lose that love and meet up again years later. All the pain and angst just makes for a great story.

Sarah and Will have been best friends since seventh grade when they were assigned to do an English project together. Once it was completed, they hung out every day. She's been in love with him since. She also knows/thinks that he could never feel the same. Sarah is also wrong. They date briefly in high school before he crushes her heart. There is no way for Sarah to deal, so she takes off and doesn't speak to him. They have no contact for seven years.

I absolutely LOVE stories that flip back and forth between past and present events. It gives a feeling of re-living parts of their lives we didn't see. Carey Heywood executed this style flawlessly. There is no confusion and I found myself in a craze whenever she'd cut off the past scenes to bring us back to the now.

It was easy to see why Sarah fell in love with Will. The characters are brilliantly developed. I could/would have been friends with Sarah. She was the tomboy that was more middle class. Her wardrobe consisted mainly of jeans and t-shirts which is what I always dressed in. She is easy to relate to and extremely likable. You feel her emotions as if they're your own. Then, there is Will. Will there ever be an end to great guys in books? He was the popular, attractive, amazing and awesome guy that every girl wanted, Sarah included. Except he was always dating someone else. He is adorably sweet and protective of Sarah. His looks and his actions will make you see why she never risked letting her feelings known. I can (almost) understand not wanting to lose him as a friend over the chance of more. Their interactions were so cute and it's obvious to us that they feel the same about each other. I wanted to jump into the book and knock sense into them both. When they finally took the plunge, I was ecstatic. I knew from the description some heartache was coming, and while reading, I thought I was clued in as to what caused it. This is where the timeline jumps make things so much more awesome. Just when you're about to find out a piece of the past, you're thrown to the present time and have to wait. I enjoyed that Heywood didn't drag out their reunion the way it could have been. It was early on and unexpected. I felt EVERYTHING once she saw him again. From that point on, you just want to know why and how they stayed apart. And through the magic of book time machines, we get all those answers. Some sooner than others.

I absolutely devoured this book. I found myself unable to put it down until it was finished. I needed to know what happened! Why did she run away? Why didn't he find her? Are they going to get back together??? This is absolutely a book I could read over and over. Him turned out to be all I wanted and more. I now look forward to reading Her!

5 STARS!

He talks to her from shadowy corners and behind closed doors. The man is as allusive as a squirrely fox, but Alicia doesn’t play games and the quiet spoken, hoarse voiced alpha doesn’t stand a chance against her. Gavin MacKellen needs a mate. But he knows no good woman would ever want to look at his face after the incident he suffered. After one look at Alicia Clarkson all his plans fly out the window. The woman’s beauty has him damn stunned speechless. She torments his thoughts and Gavin finds himself yearning to know everything about her. As relationship forms, love threatens to grow between them but Gavin struggles to cope with his physical appearance in the face of the beautiful Alicia.

Will she be the one to stand in the face of a monster and accept or will she turn her back on him as everyone else has?

Excerpt:
“When is the last time you were with a man?”

Her body jerked. “Excuse me?”

He sighed, the sound thick not with impatience but caution. “I won’t repeat myself, Alicia Clarkson.”

She froze at the sound of her name even as a part of her understood that he had to know her name. The tone of his voice had changed though, the grating sound becoming a growl.

She answered as soon as she collected herself. “Seven months ago. No six. Yeah, six months, I think.”

“Were you sleeping with him?”

She bit the inside of her cheek, jaw flaring as a blush covered her face. “I don’t see what this as to do with–”

“Just answer the question,” he said in that slow, measured voice. He sounded like someone who didn’t waste words but chose them with care.

“Yes, I did.” Why that admission embarrassed her when she knew there was no shame in what she’d done annoyed her.

Then he spoke and every inch of her stiffened. Even her heart skipped a beat. “What do you look for…in a man?”

“What?” she said, her voice as soft as a whisper. He sounded curious, maybe even a little embarrassed.

“Answer the question, please.”

She shook her head sending locks of hair snapping across her cheek and stood, teetered, then widened her stance to steady herself. “No, I’m done with this. I won’t play your little games anymore. You either explain what this is about or untie me. Actually, untie me and show me the door. I’ve been ready to leave since I got here.”

He stood and she took an abrupt step back. Was it because she feared him—damn right.

“Turn around.”

“Like hell.”

“Turn around so I can untie you.”

Biting her lip, she debated his words. He could by lying. “Promise that’s all you want?”

He grunted some sound of agreement.

She was loathed to give him her back but she did, slowly. Better to show him her back than to keep the ropes on for god knows how long. He grabbed the rope binding her wrists and her heart jumped with fear. He could kill her; hurt her in so many ways.

“Stare straight ahead.”

Naturally, she tried to look over her shoulder but he grabbed the back of her head and turned it to face forward before she could catch a glimpse.

“Don’t.” A warning.

It became difficult to breathe. This close, she caught his scent. It was fresh and masculine smelled of something rugged and outdoors. The lykaen in her rolled onto its back and stretched, content. Whoa. Reel it in, Alicia.

She jumped at the sound of his voice so close to her ear. He had a gravelly, coarse voice, deep as a bass singers. He held the rope hostage as he spoke. “I’m searching for my mate, not lookin’ for no whore. I want you to stay here while we get to know each other. That means I’m gonna have some questions you’ll need to answer. You got that?”

Not really. “Yeah,” she said instead since she didn’t see any other options.

Another grunt of approval, then she heard the metal swish of a switchblade coming out. She wiggled, tugging to get her arms free as fear rode her.

“Please don’t hurt me.” She hung her head, arms trembling in his grasp.

“Stay still. I don’t wanna nick you.”

Like that her fear passed. The blade passed through the ropes with ease and her shoulders sagged with relief. The itchy, cursed rope fell away. She smiled at the tiny pleasure of being free.

“You’ll sleep down the hall. I’ll have Will show you the room.”

Fingers touched her forearms, strong and direct. And then it vanished in an instant.

Rubbing her arms at the sudden chill, Alicia turned back only to find he’d retreated back into the shadows.

She didn’t mean to ask it but the words flew from her lips. “Why won’t you let me see your face?”

He opened the door, stepping into the hallway. She was so certain he wouldn’t answer her that she fiddled with her reddened wrists to hide her eyes.

But then he did answer and his words couldn’t have shocked her more.

“I don’t want you to see my face ‘cause I’m an ugly son of a bitch and you’re too pretty to be looking at that.”

She gaped as he quietly shut the door behind him.

Emerge by S.E. Hall Blog Tour

Hello and welcome to our stop on the Emerge Blog Tour! It's me, Kelli, and this book absolutely blew me away. I was so excited to be a part of this!!

Title: Emerge
Author: S.E. Hall
Genre: New Adult (MA +17)

Book description:

Emerge is Laney Walker's story; an 18 yr old quick witted, athletic, southern girl who lets few get too close and uses her sarcastic zingers to deflect most situations. This is her coming of age journey...starting at a new college, with a new softball team and a quirky roommate, all while living in a co-ed dorm.
One night.  Dane Kendrick.
It changes all which she thought she knew and awakens something, someone, within her that she didn't know existed.

A tale of friendship, loyalty, first love, primal love and...life.

My Review

This book sucked me in, chewed me up, and spit me out in a matter of hours.

Emerge is the story of Laney and Evan. Best friends since kids, are everything to each other, and can't imagine being apart. Evan and her dad are all Laney has had since her mother left when she was young. We see them as best friends and then finally, as two who realize they can be and want more. This discovery is shattered when Laney isn't accepted into their college of choice. About to be separated my miles instead of feet, they decide that it's important to remain friends, but with every hope and intention of ending up together. Once Laney gets to college, she begins meeting new people and making new friends. She is immediately drawn to the sexy Dane Kendrick. Now she's torn as to who/what she wants.

Okay, I want to start this off by saying how deceptive this cover is. Just looking at it you probably think it's a paranormal story. Nope. It's an adorable coming of age tale but more than that, it's a girl caught between two men and two kinds of love. I loved Laney! She's a quiet, shy, athletic girl who loves Disney movies. She reminds me a lot of myself at that age. She has very few close friends and is absolutely refreshing to read about. And Evan... Oh, Evan Mitchell Allen!! That sexy man burrowed into my heart and refuses to leave. The star football player who falls in love with his best friend. Is there anything sweeter? Not really. He's absolutely adorable in every way. And his relationship with Laney was beautiful to watch. Then there's Dane. Sexy, hot and a little bit of mystery. We don't learn much about him in the beginning, but there is much to infer. The blaringly obvious is he is extremely wealthy. Oh yeah, and he can play the guitar. And the piano. Damn. I loved him too! I didn't envy Laney having to choose between the two. This is probably the first love triangle where it took me awhile to figure out who I wanted the girl to choose. I went back and forth depending on who she was with in the story. Both are sweet and have their own strengths and drawbacks. I loved the way Evan asked her to prom. I loved what Dane did for her birthday. But certain things just meant more coming from one of the guys (and the only reason I'm not saying which is because by the last 25%, I made my choice and by the end of the review, it would spoil the ending). That's just my opinion.

Evan: "I am yours, always have been, always will be."

Dane: "Last chance, Disney. Once I get a taste, I'm coming after you with everything I've got."

Seriously, I can't even imagine having these two "fight" over me. But eventually, I'd have made a choice - though mine would've been opposite hers.

This book and its events all come down to one *MAJOR* catastrophic event. Had it not been for this act of betrayal, EVERY damn thing would have been different and I'd have gotten the HEA I wanted. And yes, I'm pouting. It's not often I read a book and feel I got the wrong ending. I knew the very moment that Laney had made her choice, even if she hadn't. I still held out hope that my man would win, though. S.E. Hall made me love two boys, but one of those two just wouldn't let me go. The ending absolutely squeezed my heart until all I felt was the pain of our shattered hopes. The gesture at the end had my heart racing and them plummeting. I was in tears for my man!!! And it's been awhile since I cried over a heartbreak in a book. My stomach was in knots and I couldn't see past the blur of tears in my eyes. I just hope he gets a happy ending now (even though I'm bummed it's not with Laney) because that was a craptastic way to find out you are being left behind.

Emerge was brilliantly beautiful. It's got a little of everything - romance, humor, drama, and even a few suspenseful twists I didn't see coming. I adored this one, folks.

About the author:
S.E.Hall resides in Arkansas with her husband of 17 years and 3 beautiful daughters. When not in the stands watching her ladies play softball, she enjoys reading YA and NA romance.
