Title: Arsen. A broken love story.
Author: Mia Asher
Release date: August 23, 2013
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Women's Fiction

Book Summary
One glance was all it took…I'm a cheater.
I'm a liar.
My whole life is a mess.

I love a man.
No, I love two men…
I think.

One makes love to me. The other sets me on fire.
One is my rock. The other is my kryptonite.

I'm broken, lost, and disgusted with myself.

But I can't stop. This is my story.
My broken love story.

Excerpt:

I need to feel him inside me.
I need Arsen to burn me to ashes with the fire roaring inside his blue eyes.
I need to kiss him.
So I do.
When our lips meet, it’s not a tender moment. It’s fierce.
Passionate.
Cannibalistic.
Teeth clashing... Hair pulling… Like this is the last kiss we will ever taste.
Arsen breaks away first, breathing heavily, color coating his cheeks. “Let’s get out of here.”
Silent for a moment, I let myself drink in his beauty. The color of his eyes, his strong jaw, the golden stubble adorning his face, his full lips…
I’m not naïve. I’m aware that if I leave with him right now, we’re going to do more than just hold hands.
We are going to fuck.

I went into this book with no real idea of what to expect. The summary doesn't tell you much, other than a woman is in love with two men. And starting out, I had no idea where the title came from. Once I found out it was a character's name (it took me AGES to get used to the name, by the way), I figured I knew where the story was going. I wasn't wrong.

We start this story reading about Cathy (protagonist, main character, heroine) suffering a miscarriage. She says she is broken and you can definitely feel sorry for her. Maybe even some will feel the same devastation she does. Of course after this, I wanted to love her. Sadly, I just couldn't.

The gist of the story: Cathy and Ben met 11 years ago and have been together ever since. Of those 11, they have been married for six. They have been trying to have children, but sadly three times led to a miscarriage. Cathy begins to believe they will never have any of their own. Ben is willing to do anything to make her happy, even mentioning adoption, but she doesn't want that. She begins to withdraw from him. Enter Arsen. He is the son of the man who bought her company. He's roughly five years younger, rich, sexy as sin, and a complete playboy with a reputation. She is designated to "train" him in the aspect of business because his father says it's time for him to grow up. Their attraction is instant and mutual and the sense of doom is immediate for the reader.

The names were a huge struggle for me in the beginning. No offense to other Cathys, but when I'm reading about teens or women in their early twenties, that's not a name I typically associate with that age group. All I could think of was that old comic strip! And Arsen? It means fire, right? But I suppose in the grand scheme of things, it fits the character and the book. It just takes awhile to get used to. Let's talk about the characters a bit. Cathy. Oh, Cathy! I wanted to love her. I wanted to understand her. By the first chapter I was already disliking her and halfway through I loathed her.By the end of the book, I wanted her to be miserable. I'm also 99% sure I'm one of the few people who feel this way. I know people are all for HEA and I usually am too. This book just made me want a HEA in a different way. I wanted Ben and Arsen to find happiness while Cathy was left alone. I know it seems harsh and crazy, and ridiculously bitchy, but I just can't help it. Cathy is the most selfish and irritating female I've ever met in a book. I understand that she felt broken and as if she was a failure due to the pregnancy problems. However, instead of continuously trying to speak to her husband about her issues, she let her feelings fester until they were out of control. Granted, she tried to make things known to Ben and maybe his response wasn't the ideal, but does that mean you give up?? Absolutely not! This is someone you feel is your soul mate, your heart, the other half of you... you don't pull away from them, especially since they're experiencing the loss just like you are. To me, Cathy is the cause for everything that went wrong. Yes, it takes two, but as you'll see, Ben was more than willing to TRY to make things better and work through things.

Arsen was another character I wanted to love. I always love the bad boy. ALWAYS. It's pretty much a guarantee that in a story of love triangles, I want the bad boy. I suppose I figure they deserve a chance to be loved just like that sweet guy that is willing to do everything for his girl. But this time, I just couldn't. It's probably because this "kid" was the catalyst in destroying a marriage. Love triangles are great and fun when there is no true commitment involved. There's nothing more fun than the angst in watching a woman torn between two guys - even though she usually picks the (reformed) bad boy in the end. And in the case of said bad boys, their vulnerability shines through and all I can think is how he needs to be fixed. I'm pretty sure that's a female thing and a lot of women will probably feel that way for Arsen. I just didn't and couldn't - even as the book progressed as we learned more about him. He came off as arrogant and selfish and usually I'd be attracted to him, but I had already met and fallen in love with Ben. And to me, the ability and willingness to encroach on another man's wife was not only despicable but also a complete turn-off. Regardless of the status of the marriage, it's not for anyone else to get in between. She is just as responsible for her own happiness as her husband is.

Ben!! Oh my gosh, how I love Ben!! I only need one word to describe him and that word is PERFECTION. I've said it before and I will reiterate here, in books involving love triangles, I choose the first guy 99% of the time. This book is no different. Ben is one of the sweetest and most gorgeous men ever created. I fell in love with him HARD. Which is why I spent most of this story pissed off.

Okay, I suppose I should talk about Arsen and how it made me feel. Or better yet, WHAT it made me feel. Anger is too tame a word. I can say I was pissed off but even that doesn't express it. All I know is that throughout this book, I wanted to jump into the pages and literally strangle Cathy. And punch her in the throat repeatedly. It starts off with a painful moment and chapter one already had me angry with the main character. Her thoughts about her husband almost caused my head to explode. You want him to leave you alone? WHAT?!?!?! And things were only worse after I read the flashback scenes which gave us looks into Cathy and Ben's relationship progression. I am a sucker for stories that do the time frame flip flop and so of course, I fell for Ben instantly. Hell, I loved young Cathy! They seemed perfect together. My absolute favorite part of the book was the look into the past at Julian's party. I could read that chapter daily just for the butterflies it gives me. It's seriously filled with swoon - did I mention I love Ben? Anyway, the marriage between these two is strained and she is definitely pulling away from him. It's hard to watch because you can see how hard he tries to keep them together and make her happy. This is where my hate for Cathy really stems from. I cannot fathom treating the man you married and are supposed to love for eternity the way she treats Ben. Bitch is too mild and the word I would use is highly inappropriate for a review. Once Arsen enters the picture, my decline in happiness began. The tension between Arsen and Cathy is like watching a speeding train rocketing toward a quiet, peaceful town. Destruction/tragedy is imminent and you're just waiting to see what will be left after the smoke clears.

Arsen isn't a happy book. It's a REAL book. I wanted to speed through the book because I was so filled with anger and pain, but at the same time wanted to take it slow to really comprehend it all. There were several times I wished it was possible to jump into books. I'd have warned young Cathy about what was to come in hopes that it would change the outcome. There is so much angst, your heart will be pounding in your chest. It will feel as if it's going to explode out of your chest.
Just a few of my notes:

"Arsen thinks he owns her. GAG! I hate them both!"

"F*** YOU, CATHY! I hope you end up alone!"

"Karma! Everyone hates you... you destroyed your husband for a child. Bravo, dipshit. Zero sympathy from me."

"I laughed at her pain. Self-inflicted, she's finally getting what she deserves. WOOT!"

"In the end, as cruel and harsh as it sounds, I wanted her to be alone. I felt she deserved that pain considering all she had caused in others. All she had been given was love and she tossed it aside."

As much as I hated Cathy, I LOVED this book more. I know it's crazy, but whenever a book can bring out such a reaction in me, I know it's great. This book nearly gave me panic attacks and I think is only below the Emi Lost and Found series in the level of anxiousness and anxiety I suffered. You might consider me masochistic, but I enjoy reading these types of stories. I love having my heart shattered and ripped out only to be glued back together again. And I found a new BBF in Ben - shoot, he's book husband material! My recommendation is to grab a reading buddy and do a joint read. You'll need the support as well as someone to vent to. Trust me. Your sanity will thank you later. If you can handle the intensity, this is a must read book. The flawed characters and story are like crack and I was definitely addicted.

Mia Asher, I bow down to your genius. I finished Arsen 2 hours ago and I am still emotional. I am emotional for all of my friends that have had miscarriages. I am emotional for all of my friends and family that have endured the pain of adultery. I am emotional from my own demons. I am emotional for Ben and Cathy's heartbreak and love. And I am emotional for Asher's loss and the world of regret and pain sitting on his shoulders. I wouldn't be surprised if Hollywood comes knocking on your door because this would be one hell of a movie.
This book is raw, emotional, realistic, beautiful, sexy, hopeful, powerful, heartbreaking, soul-crushing, hot, and earth shatteringly painful. This story brings up every emotion in the human species.
When Ben and Cathy meet there was an instant attraction and he swept her off of her feet. He is To. Die. For. Perfect. He is the husband we all dreamed about and the husband we all want. He would do anything for her and they are the couple that everyone wants to be.

"Falling in love with the wrong person is easy. Falling in love with right person is easier. But falling in love with your soul mate is easiest."

However, Cathy is falling apart inside because she can't give Ben the one thing that they both want more than anything. A baby. Their baby. Cathy is broken from her four miscarriages and there is nothing Ben can do to make that pain, loss, hopelessness, and her feelings of inadequacy go away.

"Love can destroy you. Love can erase you. Love can heal you. Love can reinvent you. And, if you are lucky enough, love can make you whole again."
Arsen is the son of the owner of the company that Cathy works for and she is teaching him the business. He is younger and a man whore....very smooth with the ladies. He is drop dead gorgeous and sexy as hell. He has a swoon worthy way of flirting with every women he comes across, basically he is sex-on-legs.

"It's funny that his name reminded me of fire because he certainly looked like someone who could burn you to the ground. With one look, he made me feel as if my body was burning scarlet."
Arsen comes into Cathy's life after she finds out that she is pregnant for the fourth time. He comes on to her and flirts with her every chance that he gets. She makes it clear that she is happily married and expecting. They form a friendship and an emotional affair (although I do not think Cathy realized that confiding in Arsen and not her husband was opening the door to more).
After she lost the baby, she went to a very dark and scary place that no one could pull her out of. That is when she turned to Arsen and their affair began....An affair that will break and destroy all three of them.

"Love is infinite. There is no beginning and no end. There's no starting point and no finishing line. Love just is. Love is born, grows, matures, and sometimes it dies. But the memory will remain with you for the rest of your breathing hours."

Blog Tour, Giveaway & Review: Something Great by M.Clarke

Something Great
Something Great
M. Clarke
She didn’t know what she was missing…until he found her.

Maxwell Knight was positively trouble, dangerously good-looking, and seductively charming. He was everything Jeanella didn’t need in her life. Only Maxwell didn’t see it that way. His pursuit was relentless, making her even more determined to push him away.

Fresh out of college, life was simple and plain for Jeanella Mefferd. Every part of her life was smooth sailing; her friends, her job, and even the guy she’d started dating. Then one night, while at dinner, she spotted someone who made her feel things she’d never felt before—dangerous, heart pounding and breathless heat. Thinking she would never see him again, she brushed it off, but when she started to run into him unexpectedly, all she could think of was how he made her feel with his sweet flirtations. Everything about Maxwell Knight screamed trouble, especially when she found out he was her new boss’s son. Now, heading to a New York fashion show, would she be able to focus on her career instead of Maxwell, who had been scheduled to attend with her? As much as she tried to forget their encounters, his good looks, smooth words and determination to win her over gravitated her toward him. The next thing she knew, her mind was utterly consumed by him. Would she be willing to ignore all the dangerous signs and jump into his arms? Or would she miss out on the chance of finding something great?

Excerpt1
“Jenna, don’t do that. You are just too adorable when you do that. Okay…I need to cool off.” Max took sidesteps and splashed water on his face.

“Tired…hot,” I groaned.

“I know, but I need to cool you down first.” His eyes lit up with an idea. Reaching over, he pulled out several paper towels, folded them into squares, and ran them under the sink. After squeezing them somewhat, he placed them over my forehead, and a soft moan escaped my mouth.

“Don’t make that sound, Jenna. You’re turning me on,” he squirmed.
“Hot.”

“Yes…I know you’re hot, but you’re not as hot as I am right now, babe.” He sounded agitated, and a deep growl parted his lips. Reaching over, he ran the paper towel under water again. Instead of placing it back on my forehead, he placed it on my cheek, gliding it slowly down my neck, my shoulder, to my collarbone, and what he did next awakened my sex drive. He squeezed the water, letting it pour down the middle of my cleavage, which sent all sorts of crazy shivers through every part of me.

I wanted to love this book. I've been addicted to bad-boy-gets-the-girl books for quite awhile now, so when I read the description and that's what the summary implies, I almost always want to read it. Of course, Something Great was no different. I was looking forward to getting started on it and now am just bummed I didn't like it more. It's still a good book, don't get me wrong, I just didn't/couldn't connect to the main character at all.

Jenna Mefferd had her heart broken in college when her boyfriend cheated on her with her roommate. It's a very minor part I the story, but important to set up the why for the way she dates in the future. Unfortunately, this girl never grew up. She's basically a high schooler stuck in a mid-20s body. The blushing, stuttering, stammering, and constant embarrassment were quite annoying. So when she sees a hot guy one evening while having dinner and drinks with her friend, you know HE'S going to be "the one". "The One" being the bad boy who is going to fall for her. How do you know? Because he stares at her even though he's with a date. Oh! I forgot to mention that at this point, Jenna has been dating a guy, Luke. They've been on a few casual dates over the course of a month and never kissed - therefore, NOT a serious relationship. However, this sweet and innocent woman doesn't understand this. And after repeatedly and conveniently running into the sexy stranger, whose name is Max, she becomes torn as to whom to choose.

Luke was dull. We don't get many scenes with him, but the few we do leaves much to be desired. Max, on the other hand, is adorably sweet and sexy. For most of us, the choice is a no-brainer. Max > Luke, 99% of the time. And finally, Jenna will realize that and you'll be ecstatic thinking the good stuff is coming. It does. There's a lot of sex but not a lot of substance. What I mean is that, the love in this relationship is instantaneous. There's no real moment that shifts things between them. Minor flirting and a lot of shyness in her part is somehow enough to make the player fall in love and realize she's the only girl for him. She is naive and innocent to some extent, so therefore she is the perfect girl? I guess for Max, she was.

If you're looking for an easy read that has some good hot scenes, this will do it for you. The romance aspect won't make you cry but you'll at least find it cute. For what the romance parts lacked, I enjoyed the scenes with Max. He is a good character and definitely a book hottie. Jenna's friends, especially Kate, offered some comic relief. I found Something Great to be enjoyable and something you could definitely escape poolside with.

Naomi's Bio
Naomi Knox is hardcore. She has to be. Growing up without parents will do that to a person, especially when you're subjected to the horrors only a special type of foster family can provide … But she can play a mean guitar and she'll write music that'll make Beethoven weep in his grave. Just don't ask about her dirty, little secrets. Well, I suppose little isn't exactly the right word. Huge. Monstrous. Looming. Maybe those are better choices?

Turner's Bio
Turner is a special kind of guy. He grew up without respect, so he demands it, even if it makes him come across as a bit of an asshole. He's got piercings and tats for days, and a mouth with no filter. If you're expecting wise words woven into his insults, you're looking in the wrong place. Turner Campbell's searching; he just doesn't know what it is that he's searching for. But he does have tattoos on his … well, you know. Yep. All over down there. Bats and spider webs. Kinda cool, right?

Title: Fighting Destiny
Author: Amelia Hutchins
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Hosted By: Love Between The Sheets

Have you ever heard of the old Celtic legends of the Fae - beautiful, magical, and deadly creatures that have a love of messing with humans just for kicks and giggles?
Welcome to my world.

What started out as a strange assignment, lead to one of the most gruesome murder mysteries of our times. My friends and I are set and determined to find out who is killing off Fae and Witches alike.

Couple of problems in the way – I hate the Fae and the Prince of the Dark Fae is bound and determined that I work for him. He’s a rude, overbearing egotistical ass with a compulsive need to possess, dominate and control me. Oh – did I mention that he is absolutely sex-on-a-stick gorgeous and he makes me feel things that I never ever wanted to feel for a Fae...every time he touches me or looks at me with those dangerous golden eyes he seems to pull me further in under his spell, despite my better judgment.

My friends and I can’t trust anyone and nothing is as it seems on the surface – not even me.
Excerpt1
She's all woman, tempting me when she shouldn’t be. She's less than I am and yet I can think of no one else, nothing else besides how she is going to feel and look when I fuck her raw. She fights me, fights her needs, and yet I can smell it on her. Every. Fucking. Time.
She's smells erotic, her wetness drenching her pink folds, I need to watch heat ignite in her vivid blue eyes as she accepts me inside her body. I want to watch as the heat from lust fills inside her endless depths as her pussy grows moist with her need while I’m driving my cock deep inside of her.
"Say it, agree to it Synthia," I growl, my cock is hard, hard as fucking steel with the need to be fucked by those juicy red lips, to dominate her completely.
She doesn't answer me, it pisses me off. "Syn…" I warn her, letting the need I feel in my cock enter my voice.
"Don’t make me forget it, please," her voice is filled with her resolve. Her answer shocks me. I would have thought she’d ask for the memory of tonight to be erased. I hate that I can't fucking predict what she does, what she says. In my world, it's deadly.
"I'm going to fuck you, hard." She needs to know I won’t be myself. I’ll be driven by the need to fuck her until she submits to me in every way possible.
interview
Hello Amelia thank you so much for taking the time to give Alphas Authors & Books Oh My an interview. I am very excited about this interview because I absolutely LOVE Fighting Destiny. It even made it on my “Top 15 of 2013” list. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Hi!
Thank you so much for having me on the blog. So happy you liked it, and glad to be here.

Can you describe Fighting Destiny in 30 words or less?
Mmm Dark, fast, alpha males, badass girl, and pack an extra pair of panties.

When did you realize you wanted to become a writer and made you finally decide to write your first book?
I was about ten when I realized I loved inventing stories. My grandmother used to tell me stories, and as I got older we built worlds together for our characters. Eventually I started reading my mother’s books late at night when she thought I was sleeping, and by 15 I had written my first story which was 190k in words…and horrible. It lacked a plot. I wrote another one in High School which my English teacher gave me an F on, and told me fantasy wouldn’t sell. I then wrote about her affair with the Science teacher which also resulted in an F, but that one was so worth it. After that I wrote as a hobby and this year I finally sat down and started writing to test my hand at it again.

This book is one sexy-hot-mess. Ryder is one of my favorite Fae BBF's because he is so in-your-face Alpha Male and Syn is a kick-ass-take-no-names bad-ass, where did you get the inspiration for these amazing characters?
Honestly Ryder has been stuck inside my head for over seven years. It wasn’t until this year that I finally managed to pull the story out and write it the way I wanted it to be.

Do you have a favorite chapter, scene or part that you wrote and if so why?
Mmm not really, I like them all.

What Genre do you consider Fighting Destiny and what draws you to this Genre?
Urban Fantasy and I love writing it simply because there is so much you can do with it and it is an escape from reality.

How many books do you have planned for this series or are you just going to see where the series takes you?
4-5 for this series, it depends where the character’s take me really…I’m just the tool for their story when it comes down to it, they control it, I just write it for them.

Do you have a writing ritual, set number of pages to write, or any certain things you have to have to write (music, food, etc)?
Coffee, coffee and more coffee is what I normally need before writing. I also listen to fast music while the characters show me the scene, and then I sit down and write it out.

What 3 words describe the author you want to be?
If I had to pick only three…Humble, because I want to be fan orientated, because without them, I’m just another writer. Creative, because without it the book would fall flat. Reliable, because I want to be an author that my fans can depend on.

What can we expect from Amelia Hutchins next?
The next book is the Fae Chronicles will be out this month. I plan on finishing this series, and starting the next. I have a lot of characters inside of me screaming for their story to be told. I have two other series which I have started and plan to play with this year as well, which more than likely will come out sometime next year. And of course, I plan on writing more hot alpha’s you can sink your teeth into.

Ok here are some fun questions for you. Bad boy, or boy next door?
Bad boy, all the way. They make the best characters.

Bed, floor or up against the wall?
I’m a wall girl, not for the sex though because well it’s awkward. There’s something hot about being pressed against the wall, and told what he plans to do to you…

Sleep in or get up early?
Early, dreams get lost in translation when you sleep in.

Fantasy or Reality?
Fantasy, cause reality bites ;)

Slow & Sentential, or Fast & Hard...lol?
Slow, and hard.

Thank you again for taking the time to let us interview you. Do you have anything else you would like to say to your fans?
Thanks for having me! Let’s do it again sometime ladies. I’d like to say thanks for liking the book. Honestly I’m in shock people liked it still. You are all amazing and without you, I wouldn’t be here. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love each and every one of you! Also Taunting Destiny is out this month…hope you enjoy it!

Amelia teased us on her blog with Hot-As-Hell little snippets and scenes the whole time she was writing this book so I was ecstatic when it finally came out. I gotta tell you, it was SOOO much more than I expected. This book had action, suspense, sexy vampires, bad ass witches, and Fae that make you want to cream your panties!! It was fast paced, action packed and full of pantie combusting sexual chemistry. I loved every second of it.

Syn was a kick ass, take no names, bad-ass witch to rival all bad-asses and I loved her. She is also a bit damaged from her past and doesn't let many people close to her.

"Oh Hell.No. No red room of pain," I snapped angrily. I was big into reading and no way in hell was I entering no red room of pain in this place.

Ryder UMMM Ryder!!! Damn that Fae was a bad-ass UBER ALPHA MALE Prince that made you want to obey every command that came out of his hot ass mouth. He is use to getting what he wants and he fights VERY dirty..lol Oh and did I mention he feeds on sex YUMMM!!

"I don't make excuses for what I am, or what I do. I play hard. I love hard and I fuck even harder Syn, I am what I am."
"Syn, I'm the kinda dirty that doesn't wash off, remember you asked for it,"

This book grips you hard doesn't let you up until it drops you on your head HARD at the end..lol I think some of my favorite parts of the book are when we get little glimpses into Ryder's mind through is small POV parts. I honestly loved every second of the book and couldn't put it down. It was so refreshing and a change of pace from what I have been reading lately. I think the PNR/UF genre has found a new best selling author. I know it is going straight to the top of my 2013 Favs list. I can't wait for the next one or anything else Amelia decides to put out!!

Scenes from Fighting Destiny©2013 Amelia Hutchins

Sex on Fire, Kings of Leon
"Not until I tell you to come Syn, in this place, I am your master, and you come when I fucking allow it. Your pussy gets rewarded when you please me, do you understand, or do I need to teach you how to serve me?"

Closer, Nine Inch Nails
"Ryder," I sighed without meaning to.
"Stop thinking, Syn. You keep over-thinking everything."
My lip trembled with the need to either kiss him, or run. I settled on biting it softly while his hands held me in place. The one on the small of my back came around softly pressing against the silk of the skirt as he rubbed his hand across my ass through the wispy material. He lifted my leg and placed it on the bed carefully.
I watched his nostrils flare as the glow became more apparent, and he allowed me to see the full fire that I’d created in him. "No panties?" He questioned through a guttural tone.

Broken, Seether
"You keep saying you can't, and it's a lie. You won't. You hide in the fucking past. You're not living Syn, you're just going through the motions of it. You want me, I can smell it—you need it as much as I do right now. The difference is, I can admit to what I want—you can't."

Godsmack, I Stand Alone
"I. Am. Not. You’re. Any-Fucking-Thing!"
"You will be," he said, with an air of confidence that only pissed me off more.

Puddle Of Mudd, Control
"I'm not sleeping with you. I don’t care if you're starving and writhing on the fucking floor. I'll walk over you and out that damn the door. I'll drag someone else back to you—but it won't be me you feed off of, ever."
His lips twitched, but his eyes stayed emotionless. "Writhing on the floor?"
"Writhing," I confirmed.
"I do not writhe on the floor, ever."
"Good, then we are on the same page." I said smoothly.

Carly Simon, You’re So Vain
Great, that’s all I needed right now.  Smell the Dark Prince who is carrying you up the damn stairs like Cinder-freaking-rella!

 Limp Bizkit, Behind Blue Eyes
"I'll be strong for you Syn, if you need it.  You don’t always have to be the strong one, I'll be your glue if you want to crumble, I'll hold you together,"
“It just is, simple as that.  That kind of love doesn't die.  It withers the soul without the other to keep it alive. Eventually, it turns you bitter and cynical."

Staind, Believe
"No surprises in there, if you get in trouble this ends. Do you understand me?"
"Yes master," I grumbled, and then winced at the heat that flashed to life in his eyes.
"Mmm I like that word on your lips."

Nine Inch Nails, Head Like Hole
Ryder turned around and looked down at me sharply in warning. "Showtime Synthia, kiss me."
My mouth went dry. All the fluid inside my body went shooting straight to my vagina. I licked my lips nervously. "Seriously? That is like the opposite of what I just said outside."
"Prove you can do this, now." His eyes searched my face, and with the single look I melted for him. I was pathetic, a pile of fucking mush from once single look!

Stone Sour, Through Glass
"How old are you?" He continued.
"Twenty one years old. Going on one hundred."
He smiled, but it was all teeth, "Funny girl."

Snow Patrol, Chasing Cars
"I didn’t forget who I was, Syn. I knew exactly who I was and who I was with when I lost control."

Three Days Grace, I hate Everything About You
His eyes lit up, and he shook his head as more Fae magic pushed into my mind. It was painful at first, but gone instantly when his lips caressed mine. I moaned and pushed against his mouth with need for him that was so hot and fierce, that I was afraid I'd be left in a pile of ash if he didn’t continue and give me more of his mouth. When he pulled away, I cried from the loss. "Ryder."
"What's your name?" He demanded in a husky voice, filled with hunger.
"Syn. Now shut up and kiss me Ryder."

Sublime, BadFish
I tore my eyes away from him with a nervous laugh bubbling inside of me.  He stepped in and slid his magnificent body in slowly into the water.  "Relax Syn, I promise to be gentle—the first time."
"The first time?" I asked meeting his hard penetrating stare.

Trapt, Headstrong
His eyes challenged me, but he remained silent as he pulled one of my legs out from where I had been holding them up against my body.  His eyes stayed locked with mine as his fingers rubbed the pads of my foot.  "This isn't going to be over fast Syn, it's going to take more than once to get you out of my system."

AC/DC, You Shook me all Night Long
I wasn’t sure I wanted to be out of his system. I should have been happy to hear it, but it sat like a rock on my chest.  "You really think you can fuck me out of your system?"

Disturbed, Down With the Sickness
"No Syn, nothing with you could be that easy," he said showing his teeth as he pulled my leg and made me lose my balance in the water.

Kings of Leon, Use Somebody
"Not used to getting compliments, are you?" He said moving us closer together until my body was completely flushed with his.
"No," I replied honestly.
"I scare you Syn, make you feel things you are afraid of admitting."

Seether, FMLYHM
"I don’t make excuses for what I am, or what I do. I play hard. I love hard, and I fuck even harder Syn, I am what I am. So if you play games with me, keep in mind I will be more than happy to play them with you and...I always win."

Blog Tour, Giveaway, Review & Dream Cast: Forget Me Not by Sarah Daltry

Sensual Sexy Lingerie
Lily had a crush on her brother's best friend, Derek for years - which led to their steamy night ten months ago in her bedroom. Now, Lily is going off to college and she and Derek are still going strong. However, when school starts, she realizes it's hard to maintain a relationship while also trying to live her own life. She and Derek find themselves falling apart and Lily has no idea where to turn.
Enter Jack. Everything about him is wrong for Lily and she knows it, but she can't stop herself from being attracted to him. When things implode with Derek, it's Jack who is there to pick up the pieces - and show Lily an entirely new set of experiences she didn't know she was missing.

Of course, Jack has his own problems and once Lily gets to know him better, she starts to wonder if she can handle all of Jack. When Derek reappears on the scene, Lily is forced to decide between two guys and herself. Can she find herself without losing the people who matter in the process?

**New Adult Contemporary Romance. Due to language & sexual content, this book is recommended for readers 17 & older**

Forget Me Not was much different than what I was expecting. I'm still torn with my rating, so I'm stuck between 3.5 and 4 stars.

The beginning had almost put me off. I wasn't expecting the crazy amount of sex right off the bat. It was pretty shocking to be honest - not in a dirty way, just in the fact that I had no idea it would start this way. Lily was annoying and whiny at times. The girl has it all, but is miserable being away from her boyfriend, who also happens to be her brother's best friend Derek. The story before this is alluded to and I feel I probably should've read it first. It's probably not necessary, but some readers may want a better idea of their background. They seemed like an adorable couple, but you know something is bound to happen since they're at different colleges. Things start out well, but as they try to settle in, their relationship begins to feel the struggle. During a break that Lily sets into motion, she hooks up with the hot, bad boy on her floor. Whoa!! It was some crazy, intense sex. They spend a weekend together and do some pretty explicit things. I was NOT expecting that! It caught me off guard and in the end seemed almost pointless in reference to the rest of the story.

A showdown of sorts forces Lily to making a choice. The boy she's always wanted in Derek or the new guy that makes her feel everything?

Overall, I liked Forget Me Not more than I thought I would in the beginning. There were moments that made me dislike Lily and others that showed her to be the young and inexperienced girl she is. I liked both guys and really felt bad about how things would end. The choice she will make is obvious but you still wish there didn't have to be one. Things get wrapped up pretty easily but I wonder where the second book will go. Lily still has issues to work on with herself and what she wants and who she is. Her relationship with the guy she chooses is cute and hot, so that's definitely a plus. It's an enjoyable read and you'll be able to breeze through it fairly quickly.

Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway: Underestimated by Jettie Woodruff

Underestimated by Woodruff

Warning! This is not your everyday fall in love romance. This book contains disturbing situations, strong language, graphic, sexual content, some forced, some not. If it's your happily ever after love story that you are looking for, you should probably move on. If you are up for the ride, stick around and it may just turn into a love story after all.

Morgan starts her life in a bad situation, she doesn't really know what she wants out of life. She's never had anyone to look up to, or help guide her in the right direction. She had it rough, and never dreamed that it could get worse, however she finds that it can, and does.

She learns what real hell is when she meets the husband that she doesn't want to marry, but isn't given a choice. Can she escape? She can, and does only to wake up and find herself right back at square one

Excerpt1
This could not be happening. It was like one of those movies that kept you on the end of your seat, waiting to see what happened. I went around the bus, and Derik was now right behind me. I shot back in front of the bus and took the next street to the right. I kept darting in and out of traffic, up and down different streets with Derik right on my tail.
I finally got out of the city enough to get some speed, still passing cars, illegally. I didn’t care. I would have loved for the cops to see me and stop me. They didn’t, and I was left to fend for myself. I was a few cars ahead of him when I came up on a sports car with the top down, full of young girls. They were yelling and having the time of their life, but they were driving too slowly. I knew I shouldn’t try it. I couldn’t see if anything was coming from the little knoll.
I darted around them, and I was right. I shouldn’t have done it. Neither I nor the city bus driver had time to react before my car was under his bumper. I don’t remember much after that. I could vaguely recall sirens, voices and the sound of a saw. I was hot. I was so hot, and I could smell smoke. Was the car on fire? Was I being cut out of the car? I didn’t know. I was drifting away. I felt my body becoming lighter and lighter as I floated into the dark.
I’m sorry, Dawson…

About the Author
Jettie Woodruff Author PicJettie Woodruff is a practicing physician and has been a Civil War buff for decades. No. Not really, she is not a doctor nor is she a Civil War buff. She is however a goof-off and has a hard time being serious for too long.

She does enjoy a challenge when it comes to her writing. She feels as though she needs to pull every emotion possible from her readers. She wants you to be pissed off, questioning your sanity, depressed, happy, and hopefully turn your mind from wanting to cut the villain into tiny little pieces to loving him by the end of the book.

Underestimated was her first dark endeavor. It was a goal alongside of writing a series, a standalone romance, a young adult, which she can’t check that one off. She tried she really did, but her mind just doesn’t work outside the gutter and it quickly became rated X.

Jettie lives on 163 acres in a rural part of Ohio. She loves living in Ohio, except maybe the snow, and the long winters, maybe the hot summers too, Ah, hell, she hates Ohio. She does love the land and the solitude of the country. She just wishes it was in a geographically in a better part of the country.

Jettie has two grown children and one who will be eighteen in a matter of days. YES!!! She has also recently just had her first, cutest ever, most adorable, granddaughter in the whole world. Her oldest daughter just hit her with the news that she will be adding another grandchild to the family in February. Although she is sure she will fall in love with the little creature, she still can’t say the G word.

Jettie enjoys reading as much as she loves writing. She has way too many favorites to list, but one of her all-time favorites from years ago was the Casteel series from V.C. Andrews. One of her new favorites is C.J. Robert’s, Captive series. Reading it gave her that needed push that she required to say the hell with what people think and write Underestimated.

By day Jettie is wearing business attire and managing a mattress store. By night she is in front of a keyboard or her Kindle, wearing, well let’s not go there. Underestimated was her fifth book published. The first one was just shy of a disaster, not that it was a bad book. People liked it. She just knew nothing about it, no revising, no editing, just a spur of the moment…. “Oh, I wrote a book, lets publish it.” Train wreck and a half. Her Star series was one of her favorites and is held dear to her heart. She is now working on an adult romance that should be live around the end of August, early September. She can’t seem to stay focused on it at the moment, due to a much needed Bahamas vacation coming up with Adam Levine’s walking around half naked, buying her drinks.
